About The Artist

Stephanie Kiker is a Hatteras Island, NC coastal artist whose colorful artwork celebrates the beauty, wildlife, and laid-back spirit of the Outer Banks. Inspired by her surroundings on Hatteras Island, Stephanie creates vibrant pieces featuring sea turtles, dolphins, birds, fish, shells, flowers, and other elements of the coastal world she loves.

The ocean has always been at the heart of Stephanie’s creative inspiration, and at the age of 50 she started surfing. Spending time in the water has given her a deeper appreciation for the movement, energy, rhythm, and constantly changing moods of the sea. The colors of a sunrise over the water, the shape of a breaking wave, the freedom of being in the lineup, and the unique characters who make up the surf community all find their way into her work. Surfing isn't simply a subject in her art—it is part of the coastal lifestyle and perspective that inspires her creativity.

A graduate of NC State University’s School of Design with a degree in Graphic Design, Stephanie combines her design background with her love of drawing to create artwork that is both visually distinctive and joyful. Her work blends detailed illustration with bold color and a playful coastal style.

Since 1996, Stephanie has been sharing her artwork through galleries, retail stores, and specialty shops throughout the Outer Banks and across the country. Her designs can be found on fine-art prints as well as a wide variety of functional products, allowing people to bring a little piece of the coast into their everyday lives.

Living and working on Hatteras Island continues to provide Stephanie with endless inspiration. Whether she is drawing coastal wildlife, capturing the character of the Outer Banks, or finding inspiration in the water, Stephanie’s work reflects her love of the ocean and the vibrant lifestyle that surrounds it. Through her art, she hopes to share that sense of color, freedom, adventure, and connection with everyone who loves the coast as much as she does.
